Thank you for your prayers as we prepared for this trip and now as we serve Him here. We are mommies and wives who have dear ones home waiting for us. Your prayers strengthen us and encourage us!
As we were driving through the narrow streets of the various cities, villages, and communities, my prayer was "Lord let us see what you would have us to see. Let us learn what you would have us to learn. Let us respond how you would have us to respond." The 3 hour drive from the airport to the orphanage was not boring in the least. The large school bus we are traveling in is quite dominating on these narrow, winding roads. As we made the drive, the Lord showed me His Guatemala.....the impoverished; the laborers; the mamas carrying babies on their backs and baskets on their heads; families carrying shovels and loaded down with packs of goods to sell; homes built of cardboard, plastic bags, stucco, or tin..He continues to teach me there is much to do and not just here but everywhere! Go and make disciples of all nations! Matthew 28:19
The Lord was very clear today and that was just the drive to get here! We look forward to what He has in store for us and Eagles Nest Orphanage! These chicks are expecting great things!
